Is it Worth Your Time?
Reality Check is better written than you would have thought. Not a mud-slinging book, but Sorrentino is very open about his personal struggles. If you expect the entertainer from ‘Jersey Shore’ or behind-the-scenes gossip you will be disappointed.
Sorrentino also details the depth of his drug addiction and his 4 times in rehab. He starts talking about rehab on page 44. So you know it is going to be a long struggle. It ends on a super optimistic note where he just seems to want to share the joy of being alive and how he has found fulfillment and success in post-reality fame. Overall it seems surprisingly well-composed given the author’s Jersey Shore persona. If you are looking for a lighthearted memoir that provides a little life affirmation as well, this might be your book.
